Enforcement of Awards in International Arbitration: Recent Developments

On Wednesday, November 18, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM (London time), in collaboration with the UK CEIA Chapter, the King’s College London, through The Dickson Poon School of Law, will host the conference “Enforcement of Awards in International Arbitration: Recent Developments”, taking place at The River Room, King’s Building, Strand Campus, London.

The event will bring together leading practitioners, academics, and international arbitrators to discuss the latest developments and key challenges in the recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards, with particular emphasis on recent case law, arbitration practice, and comparative perspectives.

The conference will open with a keynote address by Juan Fernández-Armesto, of Armesto Dispute Resolution, focusing on State responsibility for the failure to enforce arbitral awards. This will be followed by three panel discussions addressing parallel enforcement proceedings, the enforcement of arbitral awards against third parties, and the specific challenges arising when States are involved in enforcement proceedings.

The conference will conclude with a networking reception from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, offering attendees an opportunity to exchange views, share experiences, and strengthen professional connections within the international arbitration community.

Places are limited, and attendance is subject to prior confirmation by the organisers.
